Dear Christian Friends,

It is hard to believe that we have been here in Chiangmai for 2 months already.  It is like we are still in our honey moon period in reentering our cultures and context, particularly the Thai food.  There are still many Thai foods we have not tasted yet.  Mary feeds us with various and different kinds of Thai foods in each day.  None of us yields for American food yet.  Perhaps sometimes soon!

John is enjoying his new school, teachers and classmates.  He has enrolled at Grace International School .  This is a Christian school, emphasizing Bible and children¢s spiritual life.  Becky is having her therapy 3 days/ week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday).  The past week, I took Becky to have some type of the Thai traditional massage which is part of her physical therapy.  There I met some Hmong people and had very good conversation with them.  One girl came and discussed the Bible with me.  She is a very sweet and intelligent girl.  After we talked about hour, she decided she wanted to be baptized.  Another hour, we all ended up at the stream nearby and baptizing her.  Praise the Lord!

Every day we have things to praise our Living God and Lord.  God is working in/through our lives and ministry in the way that we have hardly expected.  Every Tuesday and Thursday, I am going to the Chiangmai court, not relating to any legal problem but to see one of the judges in order to teach him the Bible at his office (since his office has an air condition).  We are now studying the book of Romans.  This last Thursday, the judge invited one lady to this Bible studying.  The lady happened to be a retired university professor here in Chiangmai (since she graduated from Columbus , Ohio , we had some common talk about Buckeyes).  She is a new convert, doesn¢t know much about the Bible, but very keen to know God¢s word.  Her enthusiasm and excitement did really put some colors to this Bible studying.   Because of her, next week we will move our studying place to a coffee shop in front of my house so that we will have more space.

I (Stephen) am also organizing teaching English as a second language to military personals in order to reach them for Christ.  I have some missionary from New Zealand who willing to take a class which involves 15 people.  We are looking for more missionaries to participate this ministry for we have more people request this program.  Hopefully, this program will reach out the Thai military personals for Jesus Christ.

As some of you have known that I have worked several commentaries on NT while I was in the State during taking care off Becky at several hospitals.  I am now revisiting those works, seeing through them again with the context of Asian people.  I am now looking for Christian publishers in Myanmar and China so that those works will be published soon, of course, in the Lisu language first.

This coming month, November, Yasa and I will leave to China .  We are invited to teach at 3 different areas.  Two of them, we have never conducted any Bible study.  At least one of them, as we heard, will have over 100 attendants.  We will try also to distribute Bibles and church constructions if finance, time and situation allow us.  Thank you very much for keeping this mission trip on your prayers.

Thank you very much for remember us in your prayers and be a part of our ministry with your financial support.  May our living God richly bless you¢ll.

For the Sake of His Kingdom,

Stephen & Mary & Kids
