Dear Christian Friends,

Greetings to you all in the Name of our Living God and Lord from Chiangmai , Thailand !

Yasa and I have to defer our mission trip to China for the safety purpose.  Petru, who is our key man in China , informed us that at this moment a census has been taken of the entire Yunan province of China , particularly at the autonomy area to see the number of Christians among the minority people.  Almost every village or church is full with the communist personals.  To conduct an intensive Bible study and village evangelism at this moment are too dangerous so we have decided to defer our mission trip to February or March, 2009.

This month is the month of harvest in Thailand .  Since most church members are agriculturalists, it is also a Thanksgiving season for Christians here in Thailand .  Our weekend schedule is full with preaching program.  Every weekend, my family and I are invited to join and preach at one of the Thanksgiving events.  As I have told you that the Thanksgiving and Christmas here in Thailand are about church or community spiritual activities.  Each Thanksgiving, thousands of Christians are gathering together to give thanks for their crops.  Many of non-believers are also invited so that they will be able to hear the gospel of God’s blessings.

During this weekend, Yasa’s family and my family stopped by and visited a Lahu Christian family at Hui Mod (trans. Ant Creek).  This family is the only Christians among 49 families at this village.  While we spent time with this family, we have heard that many people of this village desire to accept Jesus Christ, but the priest of the evil-spirits stands against them.  While the chief-spirit-man oppressed the villagers through his spiritual power, the people want to be free from his spiritual oppression.  Common majority people of this village are now starting to battle against the spirit man.  I believe it is almost the ripe time for these Lahu people to accept Jesus Christ.   Please prayers for them so that the gospel of Jesus’ redemption will free them from the bondage of Satan and the evil ones.

Our Tuesday and Thursday Bible study group have move for the third time and now to our kitchen for now have five people in the group.  A couple was added into the group a week ago.  They are Australians.  A husband was a former Jehovah witness and a wife was a former Buddhist.  Both of them have just accepted Jesus and been baptized a month ago.  Praise to the Lord!  They came to our bible-study-group so that they will be able to grow in their biblical knowledge.

Isaac is enjoying learning his ABC tone.  He loves to sing “Jesus Loves Me.” He can count in number both English and Thai.  Johnny is excited to ride on motorcycle (scooter) to his school.  Because he was late over 20 days of his schooling at the beginning, he is very busy in studying.  However, he also enjoys going to spend time at village during the weekend.  Becky is getting better every day.  Her therapists are proud of her improvement.  She is still receiving an electrical stimulation and other therapies three times (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) a week.  She is able to walk up and down at village and using the Thai style of toilet where you have to squat at village quite well.  Mary is enjoying seeing most of her family.  Still, we have not met every one of our family yet.  She still loves to cook and invite people to eat.  By the way, she has not yet made any egg-roll.

Your continue prayers is most appreciated.

In Christ,

Stephen, Mary, Becky, John and Isaac
