Preacher’s Comments: Have you said or do you know others who have said, “I don’t go to church because it is full of hypocrites”. Sadly, many people believe that by using this statement as an excuse that in some way they are justified before God. In some way we all fail to live up to the teaching of God but that is quite different from the “pretender” or the “faker”. The person who honestly tries to live the Christian life is vastly different from the hypocrite. According to God’s Word, the “Hypocrite” will be in hell so how do we justify not being with the “hypocrite” a few Sundays on earth so we can spend eternity in hell with him. Mt 23:15; Mt 24:51 Strange reasoning indeed. Please read over the poems below – they are good. Love you, Art ________________________________________ HYPOCRITES “I won’t go to church with hypocrites,” I’ve heard some people say; But in the church, or out of the church, they’re with them every day. A hypocrite, as you must know, pretends what he is not; And you will find him in the church, the school, the club – or what. It doesn’t matter where you go, some hypocrites you’ll find, But always where they’re counterfeits there must be genuine. The answer for the one who uses these excuses, will always be the same… If you miss heaven, hear it now, you are the one to blame. And, oh, the bitter, sad remorse – is more than tongue could tell – That will be yours, eternally, with hypocrites, in hell! -Mrs Ethel Smith (edited by AH) Also, we need to improve Sunday Night and put Jesus and His church first. AH I love the church that Jesus built, and I know that it is right. I go there on Sunday morn but not on Sunday night. I love to sing the song of God; such worship must be right. This I do on Sunday morn but not on Sunday night. I love to hear the gospel too; it gives me pure delight. I hear it Sunday morn but not on Sunday night. Yes, we all must die ‘tis true and I hope I’m doing right, So may I die on Sunday morn and not on Sunday night. -Author Unknown
